1. Stand with your feet wide apart and your arms extended out to the sides at shoulder height.
2. Turn one foot outwards.
3. Reach forward over your front leg and lower your bottom hand to your shin, ankle or floor.
4. Extend your opposite arm upward toward the sky and open your chest. Hold for 20-30 seconds.
5. Slowly come back up to standing and repeat on the opposite side.

Exercise notes:

  • Rest the lower hand higher on the shin if your flexibility is limited.
  • Keep both legs straight but avoid locking your knees.
  • Focus on lengthening your spine rather than reaching further down.
