Step out to join the 2026 Move Together Challenge

Daily movement is an essential ingredient to keeping healthy and well, and this year’s Move Together Challenge, from 3 August to 13 September 2026, is encouraging Queenslanders to move at a time, place and pace that works for them.

Queenslanders are invited to get involved and log their steps and other activities in the 6-week challenge, run by Health and Wellbeing Queensland’s prevention partner 10,000 Steps. Sign up here

By logging in to the 10,000 Steps website or downloading the mobile app, participants can set their goals, keep track of their steps and other movements and see how many steps they can add to Queensland’s total.

Whether participating as an individual, as part of a workplace or community organisation, the aim of the Challenge is to get people moving in a way that best suits them, increase their daily activity and build healthy, long-term sustainable habits.

Here are some tips on how to make the most of your walk:

The 10,000 Steps Program is a free, evidence-based multi-strategy behaviour change program that supports people to increase their awareness and participation in physical activity by tracking steps, setting goals, and finding ways to be active as a part of their everyday lives.

The program is funded by Health and Wellbeing Queensland and delivered by CQUniversity.
