132,400 Queenslanders have engaged with the program over the last 19 years. Queenslanders have had many changes to their daily lives but it is imperative that we keep physically active for both our mental and physical health.
The Government’s Walking Strategy and Activate! Queensland strategy both call for us to embrace physical activity encouraging us to walk and move more often.
It may be different to what you are used to, but we challenge you to think about when and where you have the opportunity to be physical activity – at home, around your yard and while accessing essential services. Tracking your daily steps towards your goal will help you stay motivated and is a great way to stay accountable with your whole household. Queenslanders have told us that walking is the most popular form of physical activity, so let’s continue to empower each other to enjoy walking and physical activity as a part of our everyday – even during COVID-19.
