The Actions Hub by The Obesity Collective

The Obesity Collective has collaboratively developed a range of actions to help reduce the negative impacts of obesity in Australia. Whether you are acting on behalf of yourself, your organisation or your community, there are options for you to get involved to reduce the impact and stigma of obesity. These actions are in line with and compliment the 3 ambitions from the National Obesity Strategy.

Obesity is a societal challenge which requires government, individuals, employers, academia, investors, local communities, the food industry, and the healthcare and social sectors to take action and collaborate. The causes and effects of obesity are systemic, varied and extend beyond individual responsibility. This resource collates actions across these sectors to encourage a collaborative approach to obesity prevention.

There is a list of action areas that support healthier behaviours, access to healthcare, healthier environments, equity and opportunities, and reducing weight stigma. These actions are applicable to a range of audiences including individuals, public health professionals, researchers, businesses, health charities, media, government, local council.
