Make connections at A Better Choice Conference and Expo 2023

Health and Wellbeing Queensland (HWQld) is delighted to present A Better Choice Conference and Expo 2023, which will explore how to deliver healthier food and drinks in schools, sport and healthcare facilities when it is held at the Queensland Tennis Centre, Brisbane, on 30 May. 

The event, also known as the ABC Expo, is convened by HWQld with support from the Queensland Association of School Tuckshops, Parents & Citizens Queensland, Department of Education and Queensland Health Statewide Foodservices. HWQld is now calling for registrations for the event, for both in-person and online attendance.  

The one-day event will bring together more than 100 decision-makers from government, industry, and the community to participate in professional development and networking with sponsors and exhibitors. 

Through the conference theme ‘Creating healthy food environments for all Queenslanders’ the program is packed with opportunities to learn how to market healthy options and boost revenue or profits, fundraise, manage volunteers, engage with consumers, and includes successful case studies. 

HWQld is also proud to be leading A Better Choice, a Queensland first public health approach to make it easier to access healthy food and drink options outside of the home. 

HWQld Chief Executive, Dr Robyn Littlewood is leading the HWQld speakers to showcase how A Better Choice is paving the way for a healthier Queensland.  

“Through hosting the inaugural A Better Choice Conference and Expo 2023 we are excited to be able to share how we are developing and aligning a series of healthy food and drink strategies in places where Queenslanders live, learn, work, and play,” Dr Littlewood said. 

“Delivering targeted family, youth and school-based activities to promote positive food culture, support the development of healthy habits and raise awareness of how to adopt healthy behaviors is central to A Better Choice. 

“I invite those interested to join us on Tuesday 30 May to connect with healthier suppliers, expand your knowledge and get inspired to incorporate healthy changes into your club, school tuckshop, retail outlet or vending machine.”  

The event also provides an opportunity for suppliers of healthy food and drink choices to showcase their products as part of the event’s exhibition, or as an event sponsor.
