Dr Robyn Littlewood Celebrates First Year as Chief Executive

We are proud to acknowledge our Chief Executive, Dr Robyn Littlewood, as she marks her first anniversary of leading Queensland’s first dedicated health promotion agency. As a new agency, Health and Wellbeing Queensland (HWQld) has grown steadily through Robyn’s strong leadership, and we all feel both privileged and excited to have her leading our agency, and our strategic direction, as the inaugural permanent Chief Executive of Health and Wellbeing Queensland.

Most of 2020 has been a period of such uncertainty for many communities, workplaces and homes, and HWQld has not been immune to this. We are however so proud to be able to say that Robyn, and the wider HWQld team, have made sure that the past 12 months have seen us deliver on some of our marquee pieces of work – from launching our Pick of the Crop program to the development of our Clinicians Hub digital resource, establishing ourselves as a Project ECHO hub and delivering our first Strategic Plan.

We are leading the development of a Queensland Equity Framework, and are working collaboratively with the Remote Food Stores network on remote food security. Through Robyn’s dedication and focus on achieving real and lasting change for the health of Queenslanders, we continue to make an impact through all that we do.

Obesity prevention is a complex problem, and by working collaboratively with consumers, clinicians and communities, through partnerships and in places, we know we can make change happen for Queensland. This requirement for change is exactly why Health and Wellbeing Queensland was established, and this is exactly what we will achieve. We are already starting to demonstrate how, and we can’t wait to see what Robyn’s second year will bring!
