Supporting young netballers to reach the top of their game

Netballers jump for joy beside the Health and Wellbeing Queensland prize wheel

As a proud sponsor of Netball Queensland, Health and Wellbeing Queensland joined thousands of netball players, coaches, officials, umpires, and spectators from across Queensland earlier this month at the 4-day Junior Nissan State Age netball competition.

The statewide comp, held at Pine Rivers Netball Association on 2-5 July 2022, involved 205 teams and a total of 2,050 Queensland players aged 12 to 14 competing at the highest representative level.

Despite some wet weather, we were delighted to be onsite throughout the competition to cheer on young Queenslanders playing at the top of their game and making healthy happen.

Off the court, players joined us for some fun in the chill out zone where they loved spinning our prize wheel for a chance to win some great prizes, including a highly sought-after meet and greet with the Queensland Firebirds. We also had sporting gear and merchandise vouchers on offer, plus thousands of instant win prizes like HWQld sunglasses, caps, visors, and lip balms.

Our sponsorship of events like this allows us to connect with young people, families, and sporting clubs to promote the value of healthy lifestyle choices for health and wellbeing. We believe moving more and making healthy food and drink choices can improve the lives of all Queenslanders – including the state’s future netball stars.
