ConnectingQ ECHO® Session – Cook and Connect – Empowering Rural Communities Through Improved Food Literacy
November 24 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm AEST

Food insecurity is a significant issue, particularly in rural and disadvantaged communities. It limits access to healthy food and increases the risk of chronic disease. Building practical skills like cooking and meal planning can help strengthen food literacy and support healthier, more resilient communities.
Cook and Connect is a place-based initiative in Roma that addresses these challenges through cooking classes for high school students.
Learn about the co-design and how the program addresses social determinants of health by improving food literacy.
Speaker: Alex McKenna, Community Nutritionist, Healthy Communities Roma, South West Hospital and Health Service.
