An introduction to the Australian Urban Observatory (AUO) Digital Planning Platform will enable you to understand walkability, access to schools, public transport and public open spaces in selected Australian and Queensland cities. Learn how to leverage their research to support health and wellbeing in your community.

Trying to find ways to improve the health and liveability of your community? This session explores the Australian Urban Observatory (AUO) Digital Planning Platform, helping you understand walkability, access to schools, public transport, and public open spaces across selected cities across Australia and Queensland. Brisbane, Cairns, Gold Coast-Tweed Heads, Mackay, Sunshine Coast, Toowoomba and Townsville are included in the AUO maps.

The Centre for Urban Design has taken the complexity of urban data and transformed it into accessible, visual maps – making it easier for communities to understand their neighbourhoods and drive positive change.

Speakers:

  • Professor Melanie Davern, Director
  • Brigid Papaix, Knowledge Broker & Partnerships Manager from the Centre for Urban Research, Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT) University
