Heart Foundation Walking is Australia’s largest free walking community. Groups are volunteer-led and range in size, walk time, day and duration. Heart Foundation Walking also hosts a virtual community of walkers who track their activity online.
Program Inclusions
Walking groups vary in size, distance, level of difficulty and walk times to cater for all ages and abilities. On top of regular scheduled walks, some groups organise special walks and social events to make being active even more fun.
The groups are not only a great way to incorporate more movement into your life, but they’re also are a great way to make friends, stay healthy and be part of your local community.
Program Benefits
Joining is simple, free and there are over 1,100 walking groups nationwide. You can even start your own group by becoming a volunteer Walk Organiser. Their Walker Recognition Scheme helps drive motivation with rewards, certificates and incentives upon reaching certain milestones. The Heart Foundation Walking app keeps track of walking and rewards people for stepping it up.
